Abortifacient Merchandise[edit]

Please do not claim that the shrine sells, or supports the sale of abortifacient merchandise. This is not a platform for slanderous statements by placing vague statements to slander the Black Nazarene shrine. This is not a platform for vague statements to incense hatred towards the Roman Catholic Church.

Private vendors who sell abortifacient merchandise are located outside the church, so the term should be "Locale" or "Vicinity" of the shrine. More importantly, these abortifacients are unsafe and untested by the Department of Health of the Philippines, and is heavily condemned by esteemed professionals in the field for having no medical knowledge or approbation.

The abortifacients sold in the stalls are often composed of magic potions and folk remedies thought to induce abortion. At best they are gastric irritants, while there are persons who claim to perform surgical aborition----these are not affiliated with the Basilica itself.

Several circulars and press statements have been made by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila condemning these acts, and has issued excommunication to women who commit abortion PER canonical mandate of Latiae Sentiae by the Roman Catholic Church on intentional abortion. Most notably by Cardinal Gaudencio Rosales, who explicitly condemn the practice of leaving fetuses outside the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of the Basilica. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LoveforMary (talkcontribs) 00:56, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
