R160 R train

[edit]

Made an appearance today with 9548-9552, 9858-9862. Of course this is no means to edit it but just letting you guys know that they are not completely off the R at the moment.--IGeMiNix (talk) 18:23, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There are no R160s assigned to the R. However, they may appear in service to replace an out-of-service set or to fill a service gap. Coasterlover1994Leave your mark! 05:19, 18 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

R160 Line Assignments

[edit]

As my last post said, R160s may appear on the R, if service requires them. However, there are not, and will not be R160s on the G, unless it is extended to CI for some freak GO. R160s, IIRC, are not configured for OPTO, which the G uses nights and weekends. There are enough R46 sets for the G to use only R46s. And there are R160 N trains, as there are not enough R68/A sets for the N to use only those (short of the B or D getting R160s, which will not happen). I hope this will help, Coasterlover1994Leave your mark! 21:49, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dude likes to live in his fantasy world, can't really do much to make him listen. He also likes to put things as he wishes and remove things he hates. Also it seems there has been a steady amount of 2 R160s on the R from what I have seen. I really wonder if they are not assigned to it.--IGeMiNix (talk) 23:52, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's possible, but the folks at Jamaica Yard want the F to have only 60-foot cars (in case a train gets rerouted over the Willy B and for higher capacity), which may possibly leave the R with only R46s assigned to it. I know there has been a steady stream of 2 R160s on the R, but I suspect that they are just spares assigned to the E or F that were put in to fill service (maybe due to mechanical problems, etc.) On a slightly different topic, someone else is saying that R160s are assigned to the G. They are not assigned to the G. The G is only running R160s due to the GO that is sending the F to Euclid and the G to CI, and there are not enough R46s at Jamaica to create the rewuired 8-car trains to fill service along the Culver Line. Comment; 10-car trains can't get from Sixth Avenue through the Chrystie Street Cut heading towards the Willy B. The signals have been modified to keep that from happening. Second, lets please stick to reliable sources when adding or deleting trains served by particular car models. Acps110 (talkcontribs) 19:52, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for that clarification. Knowing the TA, I thought that they wouldn't bother to modify the signals. Coasterlover1994Leave your mark! 21:58, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
