Road reopened?

[edit]

"A road that was closed when the airfield was built was re-opened making use of part of the main runway." There is no evidence of this from the current aerial pictures. Are you sure? CS46 20:38, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you look here: http://nls.tileserver.com/?lat=50.967991423627&lng=-2.937016399111&zoom=15 it shows that Woodlands Lane to the north, was continuous with Park Barn Lane to the south west. This formed a continuous road from Badbury to Ashill, although it only seems to have followed a small part of the runway 03/21 alignment.DaveBrit (talk) 21:35, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal

[edit]

Both the articles RAF Merryfield and RNAS Merryfield talk about the same place (just different parts of its history), therefore it would seem more sensible just to have one article & redirect the other one, in the same way that RAF Lulsgate Bottom redirects to Bristol Airport.— Rod talk 18:35, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Support: If they both share the same location and reperesent the same name then it would seem sensible to merge them. Looking at the RNAS Merryfield, it wouldn't seem important enough since it is a lot shorter and conatins less infmormation. They do both have a lot in common. Definitely - Considering that they are about the same article. Reaper Eternal (talk) 15:32, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Merger now done.— Rod talk 18:03, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
