The Swedish coastal artillery and it's missile battery section is terrible

[edit]

The section on the missiles that once belonged to the Swedish coastal artillery is terrible, in fact it is so terrible it even gets the manufacturer of the trucks wrong. Where to start. First the article links to an SVD article from 1987 as proof there where four anti ship missile batteries in service. This is false only one battery where ever built and entered service the other three where stricken in budget cuts as the cold war ended between 1987 and 1995 when the battery became operational. It also claims that one of the batteries where emplaced on Gotland with the same link from 1987, this is impossible to know in fact the battery was organised by KA2 in Karlskona and not by KA5 which is on Gotland. I will try to clean this up.

The info on the Rb 08 confuses

[edit]

The RB 08 has nothing in simmilar with the RBS 15 other than it's bulk being to large promting the development of the RBS 15. The RBS 15 is traced to the RB 04 missile family used by the Swedish air force from the early 1960's to the late 1990's with which it shares the same body and warhead for instance. The RB 08 is a Frensh CT-20 target/drone missile modified with a seeker and warhead. Also when the RBS 15 was first presented to the Navy by SAAB in 1978 in a bid to build the navys new heavy anti ship missiles the SAAB project name was Rb 04 Turbo [1] The Rb 04 Turbo project was at first found inferior to the Harpoon but SAAB changed the design specifications to remedy this, following this the name RBS 15 was choosen as a way to sell the missile as a new weapon (which it to a very large degree is). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.228.59.11 (talk) 12:48, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Rb 04

[edit]

Shouldn't the Rb 04 be split to another article? It is, after all, a very different missile from the RBS-15

Brazil

[edit]
The Brazilian Navy has chosen the Mk. III to equip its Barroso class corvette and also plans to equip their Niteroi Class Frigate.

It's wrong...

These vessels using the MM-40 Exocet. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.158.229.154 (talk) 01:15, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

At present, yes. But the Brazilian Navy is planing on replacing the MM-40's with RBS-15 Mk.III 130.237.216.122 (talk) 12:38, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Name

[edit]

The proper name for this weapon, and the page, would be Robot 15. Rbs 15 might work as a secondary, but the proper name is Robot. And at no point should there be a '-' in between the word and the number. It's RBS 15, not RBS-15.85.229.59.238 (talk) 23:37, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Current developments (Coastal Defence)

[edit]

This one in particular. Looks though like the Amfibiekåren won't be getting their old job back, at least for the moment. Ceannlann gorm (talk) 11:22, 20 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Article Title

[edit]

Both Diehl and Saab call it "RBS15", why is there a hyphen in the article title? --84.189.84.17 (talk) 20:20, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Almost all references and external links call it "RBS15" too. --84.189.84.17 (talk) 20:24, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, that didn't go well. Both Diehl and Saab call it "RBS15", why is there a space in the article title? --84.189.84.17 (talk) 22:43, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't just take your word for it, but did my own investigation. There's a space because that's how the other articles with RB and RBS designations on English Wikipedia are titled, such as RBS 70, so I was being consistent with them. That is apparently the Swedish Government's convention. This is also the format used in the Swedish Wikipedia article, and that's also what I followed. That others aren't consistent is their problem, not ours. If you still have an issue, you're welcome to initiate a move proposal per WP:RM. BilCat (talk) 22:52, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia ist not a reliable source, and that includes the Swedish Wikipedia. What remains is government use, and I would suggest that they are trumped by the sum of both manufactures and the majority of sources given in this very article.
But whatever, it's your article. --84.189.84.17 (talk) 11:31, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's not my article, nor anyone elses, per WP:OWN. You were right to point out that the hyphen was incorrect. I simply made my best judgement as to the proper title, per my responsibilities as a Page Mover. You have alternatives steps to get the title changed if you chose to use them. BilCat (talk) 22:03, 10 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Your best judgement does not include the manufacturers and most sources listed in this very article, but it does use Wikipedia as a source?
Seems that it's your article after all. --84.189.84.17 (talk) 00:45, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So propose a move already, or move on yourself. BilCat (talk) 01:05, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
To repeat this little discussion over there? Because that's so much fun?
Nah, it's your article. You broke it, you fix it. --84.189.84.17 (talk) 01:07, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This user sure sounds a lot like WP:BKFIP... just saying wizzito | say hello! 00:47, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

How convenient!
Does that mean my arguments are invalid? --84.189.84.17 (talk) 00:50, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No, just that you sound a lot like them in your tone and typing style. wizzito | say hello! 00:51, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I took a quick look into BKFIP, seems like almost nothing fits. But don't let facts distract you from your little insinuation.
In any case, do you think we should use Wikipedia as a source instead of more traditional sources? --84.189.84.17 (talk) 00:57, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's not a personal attack, just an observation. And isn't it a little suspicious for an IP editor to know about that page? wizzito | say hello! 00:59, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
"Just an observation"? Come on, that is soo lame, can't you think of a better excuse?
I'm an IP, not a new editor. --84.189.84.17 (talk) 01:02, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So who's sock are you? BilCat (talk) 01:04, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Noone's. I work as an IP. --84.189.84.17 (talk) 01:06, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
IP editors can have socks too. BilCat (talk) 01:33, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wizzito, please do not spread your false allegations. Your change on Savannah did not improve the article, and if you would take a closer look at it, you would see that. --84.189.84.17 (talk) 01:06, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, you just really remind me of BKFIP. And considering that they've used IPs geolocating to your country before and are an active traveler, it's hard for me to not believe it's them. wizzito | say hello! 01:07, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So you would remove improvements from an article just because I'm reminding you of someone? You don't see anything wrong with that? --84.189.84.17 (talk) 01:09, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) It could be them, or another sock of different long-blocked user. There's plenty enough of them around. I had a runnin with them a couple of months ago on another talk page, but I really haven't interacted with them enough to say. BilCat (talk) 01:12, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I do it all the time with other vandalism socks that look possible, such as ones that may belong to WP:LTA/TFD, WP:LTA/HTF, WP:LTA/HT, and WP:LTA/WKHF, for some examples of vandals I run into regularly. wizzito | say hello! 01:16, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
"Other" vandalism socks? Cut it out already. --84.189.84.17 (talk) 01:18, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yup. There was one about 10-15 years ago who was obsessed over some mountain lion in Idaho or something. Haven't thought of it in years. Cat Creek maybe? BilCat (talk) 01:20, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
"Cut it out"? So you want me to stop preventing these vandals and hoaxers from disrupting Wikipedia? wizzito | say hello! 01:21, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Catcreekcitycouncil, and it was Cat Creek, Montana. BilCat (talk) 01:24, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No, I want you to stop harassing legitimate IP editors. --84.189.84.17 (talk) 01:26, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, best known for IP. wizzito | say hello! 01:29, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
When I finally get banned for being a White Supremecist Nazi (which I'm not, but that's Anti-Nazi nazis call people who disagree with them), I'm not sure what type of IP disruption I'll carry out. What works best for you, 84? BilCat (talk) 01:31, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
