Citation anchoring

[edit]

@Dlohcierekim: Thank you for your comment on my draft article. I want to make sure I understand before making the edits I think you are suggesting. Are you suggesting that I change all of the parenthetical citations in the article to footnote style with numerical superscripts? If parenthetical references are no longer acceptable on Wikipedia, then I will change all of them. Best wishes, Overlain (talk) 01:45, 2 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Dlohcierekim: I have done some reading in the help pages to try to understand your comment better -- I think what you are suggesting is that each inline citation be linked back or anchored to the applicable reference in the references section. Since I typed them in by hand rather than using a template, they are currently not linked. I will experiment in my sandbox how to do this, probably using the Harv template for the inline citations, and then the Citation template to rebuild the references. In the meantime, if you could confirm this is what you intended, then I will get busy and get all of the citations linked back to the references. Best wishes, Overlain (talk) 06:16, 2 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Dlohcierekim: After testing on my sandbox, I realized the value of the links from the citations to the references, so I have gone ahead and added all of the links. Overlain (talk) 14:06, 4 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
