Changes to the RY X page[edit]

In the RY X article, the writer seems to merge the projects of Ry Cuming and RY X into a single entity. RY X was intended to be a completely separate project away from the connotations of Ry Cuming. Also, details regarding record label are incomplete - the Berlin EP's European release is on Infectious Music which is his current label.

Can I propose splitting Ry Cuming (and accomplishments) and RY X (and accomplishments) into separate articles with correct discographies please?

I am the editor who has developed the RY X article. I know practically nothing about this artist and he got my attention through "Berlin" when I saw it charting in a couple of charts, particularly France which I follow keenly. So I researched as far as I could and discovered his long career and beginnings in Australia before moving to LA. The only editor who pitched in to edit just scrapped anything and everything to do about Ry Cuming, as if Ry had actually started his career with the Berlin EP. I found that very disruptive as if someone wanted to delete an important part of his life. The article is just one block as it exists today and then the discographies start. You know Wikipedia is a free encyclopedia anybody can edit. Since you are a keen editor and this artist may be your expertise, and it seems you are quite interested and knowledgeable in this artist, go ahead and try your hand in editing the page and creating separate sections and add info-- provided we don't end up with just RY X as with our earlier editor. Incidentally this will give you a good opportunity to develop a good article within your expertise and with an artist you clearly have interest in. Alternatively I could use all your references and do a whole new presentation myself, but that wouldn't be fun, it wouldn't be fair. One look at my log of edits will show you how much I have on my hands. I don't need one more article to spend hours own LOL... And by the way, thanks for using the talk page and making suggestions prior to engaging in a massive change. That was the right thing to do. Basic questions of mine that I need addressed: Is Ry Cumming his real name or Ry Cuming is also a stage name? You say these are two separate "projects". Please elaborate. This confused me somehow. Is his new name written RY X or Ry X? What was his beginning career in Australia? What is his connection to Scandinavia to be signed to Dumont Dumont out of all the labels in the States. That tells me there is a connection. Why is he not known in Australia and everybody is getting into him and his home people are unaware... Or is he popular and I am mistaken? Now go ahead and try your hand in developing two well-written and comprehensive sections on each phase. I'l be watching the edits and offer my help just in case whenever you need it. Welcome to Wikipedia. By the way, RY X's voice and style remind me very much of a great new Icelandic artist called Ásgeir Trausti who took Iceland by storm and now the world with an English translation of the same album. Just listen to Ásgeir's music and you'll understand what I mean. I dedicate to you his song "King and Cross". Or this superbly enchanting live rendition: "Dýrð í dauðaþögn".
