Rewriting and Expanding This Article[edit]

Hi there, I am an undergraduate genetics student from the University of Western Ontario. As part of my advanced genetics class, I will be editing this article over the next few weeks. I will be rewriting the lead section as well as adding sections pertaining to the discovery of the gene, its structure and function, and its human homologues, DMXL1 and DMXL2.
