Merger (done)[edit]

After a recent AfD if was suggested that the various articles or the underworld races, and classes, be merged to form a single article here, I have started this an would apreciate feed back on it & checking for any duplicated info, before the other articles are redirected here. --Nate1481( t/c) 08:33, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds like a very good idea to me. It would save a lot of time overall. Also it has to be said that a few of the articles (the one on the Hybrids sepecially) are a mess, so one article for all races sounds good.SMegatron 10:33, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Two months later finaly back will leave it a week & redirect unless I see objections. --Nate1481( t/c) 12:16, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Lycan.jpg[edit]

Image:Lycan.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Corvinus Strain and Alexander Corvinus article[edit]

The Corvinus Strain bit is completely unclear and completely in-universe.

Also, some of the character articles, at the least Alexander Corvinus, should be merged. He's really not that notable. Not even Mr. Lister's Koromon survived intact. 00:38, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge away, possibly into Underworld: Evolution though I merged in all the races stuff here but characters fit more neatly in the films. --Nate1481( t/c) 09:55, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Immortality?[edit]

I don't think "living for hundreds of years" classifies as being "immortal".--74.131.129.131 (talk) 23:59, 6 June 2008 (UTC)A Concerned Citizen.[reply]

Selene throwing cops around and such.[edit]

She did become ridiculously stronger after drinking the Corvinus blood, but she survived the shotgun blast and threw the cops around WAY before that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.219.247.112 (talk) 21:51, 16 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vampire Laws[edit]

Having read all the books, I have absolutely no idea where these 'vampire laws' are coming from. I know it's implied in the fan-fiction novel, Blood Enemy, that drinking from humans is frowned upon, but it's never outright stated. Where is the evidence for this part of the page? AlessaGillespie (talk) 07:10, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed Merger[edit]

Do we really need over ten pages for one movie series? This page, as well as all pages devoted to major characters, should be merged into one page, along with the Underworld (series) page. AlessaGillespie (talk) 01:45, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose (Could you list the others here please?) I've come via the merge tag, and this one races keeps a big portion of relevant (probalby sourceable) info that would over clutter the main article, werewolves & vampires are generic concepts so the specifics for the series allow a better understanding. --Nate1481 15:35, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The other pages I've suggested merging into Underworld (film series) are Sonja (Underworld), Raze (Underworld), William Corvinus, Lucian (Underworld), Viktor (Underworld), Selene (Underworld), Michael Corvin, and Kraven (Underworld). —Preceding unsigned comment added by AlessaGillespie (talkcontribs) 05:03, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The notability of the characters can be assessed individually, and might benefit form a merge if the very short, but I think several have been though AfD and kept. Also as a parrallel, I have lost count of the number of Star Wars characters who appear in only one film, or only in the expanded universe who have their own articles. --Nate1481 10:46, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I must also agree to oppose. Also this has already been settled. FaithLehaneTheVampireSlayer 23:17, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The deletion discussion involved over half of users voting a merge. 70.138.112.29 (talk) 21:09, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
So, after 3 weeks, we're at a tie with myself and another on the Underworld (film series) page voting a merge, and two people opposed. Hopefully the release of the third film will bring fresh viewpoints. AlessaGillespie (talk) 06:23, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose I know I'm late, but my reason to oppose is because any such merger would create a far-too-lengthy [ok so thats a made up term :) but hopefully my point is clear!] article that would not be manageable in my opinion. And keeping the articles as they are works best as far as I can see.--♦Tangerines♦·Talk 02:53, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As there seems to be significant opposition to the merger, I've removed the merge tags. Jafeluv (talk) 10:18, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Auto review[edit]

The following suggestions were generated by a semi-automatic javascript program, and might not be applicable for the article in question.

  • Please expand the lead to conform with guidelines at Wikipedia:Lead. The article should have an appropriate number of paragraphs as is shown on WP:LEAD, and should adequately summarize the article.[?]
  • Consider adding more links to the article; per Wikipedia:Manual of Style (links) and Wikipedia:Build the web, create links to relevant articles.[?]
  • You may wish to consider adding an appropriate infobox for this article, if one exists relating to the topic of the article. [?] (Note that there might not be an applicable infobox; remember that these suggestions are not generated manually)
  • There are a few occurrences of weasel words in this article- please observe WP:AWT. Certain phrases should specify exactly who supports, considers, believes, etc., such a view.
    • apparently
    • might be weasel words, and should be provided with proper citations (if they already do, or are not weasel terms, please strike this comment).[?]
  • Watch for redundancies that make the article too wordy instead of being crisp and concise. (You may wish to try Tony1's redundancy exercises.)
    • While additive terms like “also”, “in addition”, “additionally”, “moreover”, and “furthermore” may sometimes be useful, overusing them when they aren't necessary can instead detract from the brilliancy of the article. This article has 17 additive terms, a bit too much.
    • Vague terms of size often are unnecessary and redundant - “some”, “a variety/number/majority of”, “several”, “a few”, “many”, “any”, and “all”. For example, “All pigs are pink, so we thought of a number of ways to turn them green.”
  • This article needs footnotes, preferably in the cite.php format recommended by WP:WIAFA. Simply, enclose inline citations, with WP:CITE or WP:CITE/ES information, with <ref>THE FOOTNOTE</ref>. At the bottom of the article, in a section named “References” or “Footnotes”, add <div class="references-small"><references/></div>.[?]
  • The article will need references. See WP:CITE and WP:V for more information.[?]
  • Please ensure that the article has gone through a thorough copyediting so that it exemplifies some of Wikipedia's best work. See also User:Tony1/How to satisfy Criterion 1a.[?]

Cleanup[edit]

could someone cleanup the article, it has numerous spelling mistakes. And this part "by filling their bullets with a photogenic solution" is just plain silly. Tyriel (talk) 16:54, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lycans[edit]

The ancient Greeks spoke of Lycaon, a wicked ruler who planed to kill Zeus. He failed at that and Zeus turned him into a wolf. In Greek myths lycans (werewolves) were soldiers of the underworld, they were Hades' minions. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JackHH11 (talkcontribs) 18:38, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
