Missing History from 1916 to 1983[edit]

The article provides historical background to the party winning "the general elections of 1916, when Hipólito Yrigoyen became president" and then ceases any coverage from that period until it wins the election of 1983. Obviously, the party was in existence for those 67 years, especially if it reemerges in 1983. What happened to it for all those years? Stevenmitchell 07:49, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:UCR Logo.jpg[edit]

Image:UCR Logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:38, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Social democracy?[edit]

I thought the UCR was the ultra-right party of Argentina.--Hetfield1987 (Wesborland | James Hetfield) 16:02, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, although it's "centrist" in Argentine politics. In Argentina the "center-left" groups and parties are Kirschnerism (the Peronist left), Socialism, Proyecto Sur, and the like. Radicalism also has left-leaning and right-learning branches. Perhaps you could call it "center-left" if one were to insert it in US political standards, or by early twentieth century Argentine standards: in other words, out of context. The center-left article linked to explains that what may be center-left in one place (and should say time, too) may be something else elsewhere. To muddle things further, that article talks about a "global" or "absolute" definition which has no consensus and would require citations. Quién es como Dios? Centrism??[edit]

This has a hammer in the middle and a red logo! how can it be a center political party?. Undoubtedly it's communist or at least socialist.

The colours have nothing to do with foreign ideologies. It's red for the federal party and white for the white party of Uruguay, an homage to the good guys of the XIX century civil wars in Argentina and Buenos Aires. Cambalachero (talk) 18:31, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Political position[edit]

I don't think the political position of the UCR should be described as "centre" but as "centre to centre-left".# In fact, even in the Spanish Wikipedia, it is written as "centre to centre-left", not only "centre". It is also very rare for a social democratic party to be classified as a centrist party in general.--Storm598 (talk) 23:48, 27 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Flag of the Radical Civic Union[edit]

The flag of the party is white and red with the "UCR" emblem. --191.113.53.209 (talk) 22:30, 2 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
