Discuss here[edit]

How could Rafael Casanova support Archduke Charles of Austria to the Crown of Spain, if the War of the Spanish Succession was during first two decades of 1700s, and the Archduke was born in 1771? You meant that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_VI,_Holy_Roman_Emperor

Violation of Wikipedia principles[edit]

This article contains subjective opinions about Catalan nationalism, which is a violation of Wikipedia:Neutral point of view. Furthermore, it includes non truthful information about Rafael Casanova based upon a well reputed Catalan nationalist newspaper 'ABC', which is a clear violation of Wikipedia's rules about Wikipedia:Reliable sources. So I beg to rule out this citing source and swap it for a reliable source; otherwise I am going to discard the phrases that break the Wikipedia policies and procedures.--Georg-hessen (talk) 06:13, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nationality in the Side Section[edit]

Rafael Casanova is a famous figure of Catalan history, and is still celebrated today, this is all known, however I mention this because in the side section I would like to change his nationality to Catalan from Spanish. He identified himself as Catalan, spoke Catalan, was ethnically Catalan, and fought for Catalunya against Spain, the idea of a Nation is a relatively new thing, but I also want to bring up the Oxford Dictionary Definition of a "nation," which is: A large body of people united by common descent, history, culture, or language, inhabiting a particular state or territory. Now with the war I certainly wouldn't say Castille and Catalonia were united, but going down the list, different language, different culture, a history that is mostly different, Castille being primarily concerned with land affairs then colonization, where as Catalonia was more a trading empire. There also wasn't the strong moorish influence in Catalonia as it was occupied for a relatively short period of time, northern Catalonia at any rate, which is reflected in architecture, and vocabulary. So anyhow if there's talk on this I'd love to hear it, once again I'm writing this in regard to the region in the years of Casanova's life, not present day, which I realized is highly politicized. I'll wait for a couple of days, if I hear nothing, I'll go ahead and switch the nationality. Alcibiades979 (talk) 20:06, 7 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've gone through the history of the page, and have found that this bares strongly inline with what the authors intended, it only getting occasionally reverted by vandalism, so I'm going to go ahead and switch this. If you disagree, please let me know that you do, and why here, and we can figure it out. (Alcibiades979 (talk) 16:39, 8 April 2016 (UTC))[reply]
