Job Confusion?[edit]

This article seems to suggest that the heroine of the novel is both an Assistant District Attorney and a Criminal Defense Attorney. Wikipedia defines the District Attorney roles in the USA as being involved in the prosecution of cases, not defense. So what is she? And if the answer is that her role changes during the course of the novel, from prosecution to defense work, can the article be written in such a way as to make this clear? I can't do this, not having read the novel - although I have long admired the title! Solaricon (talk) 16:18, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The plot outline is also confusing here - it appears a bribe may be a key factor, but this is only mentioned later on in the outline, in a way that implies it may have happened earlier in the novel.
