The former tunnel connecting Lebanon and Palestine

at the German Wikipedia. [Inter alia, note that Anderson et al. state that the Hedjaz Railway absorbed the DHP's concession south from Damascus, while the German page says that the HRR failed to purchase that route owing to the DHP's excessive demands. Even though both were built to 1.05 m gauge, they weren't connected but ran parallel to one another. — LlywelynII 12:37, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Burns has the distance btwn Beirut and Damascus at 147 km (not 140) and the distance btwn Damascus and Muz' at 103 km (not 105). — LlywelynII 13:39, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There's more at

that could be used.

Rather large amount that could be used here:

in particular the first part, where it shows that the value of the city's trade was up ~50% following the introduction of the line. The Aleppo Ry section starts on page 14. — LlywelynII 06:50, 1 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

And stilll more here:

including mention of Alexandretta's caravan trade surviving unbothered for a time and then the railway catching on; the primary trade of the Tripoli Northern line being materiel for the German Baghdad Ry; and photographic plates of the railway in the back. — LlywelynII 07:11, 1 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
