Different Versions by B. J. Thomas

[edit]

B. J. Thomas musta recorded at least three different versions of this song. The version heard in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is all mono and without any tremolo or vibrato in the voice whenever he's stretching a syllable. Then there's two different stereo versions, whereas the first of which is noticeably faster, a bit higher in pitch, and his voice is sounding like fake stereo, although the background chorus and the music are in true stereo, and the other stereo version is all in true stereo including his voice, but it's slower and deeper, as if recorded decades later and he's sounding old and tired.

Maybe it would be noteworthy that at least these three different versions exist by B. J. Thomas alone? --79.193.49.21 (talk) 05:53, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sales

[edit]

"But, when the movie came out it hit hugely and sold about 200,000 to 300,000 records a day for about three years."

This cannot possibly be true. More likely that the record sold 300,000 a year for three years, i.e. A million sales in all.

The quote cannot be checked howevet since, like every other Wikipedia link I try to call up these days to check a reference, it is dead. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.155.214.81 (talk) 08:20, 3 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm revisiting my MP3 copy of the interview, I remember that the song was a smash hit when the movie came out in December 1969. The song sold over 2 million singles by press-time March 14, 1970. I don't know if that includes soundtracks and albums. [1] and is one of Thomas' biggest sellers (out of more than 70 million in sales) according to Amazon.

Does anyone have a good source for Chuck Findley? Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 22:29, 9 November 2015 (UTC) p.s. might be a flugelhorn.[reply]

@Martinevans123 One weak one that places him on "Raindrops" [2], better refs but no "Raindrops"[3], [4] -- good luck -- 009o9 (talk) 01:09, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
