Birthdate and contradict tag

[edit]

Two different birthdates are given in this article: one a generic year of 1949 in the lead and in the infobox, and the other a specific date of 25 July 1951 in the Early life section. The single reference given for the lead is a dead link, and actually looks like a badly formed URL: http://www.rabilacom.om/index.html. I attempted to look it up both the website as entered, as well as a potentially correct .com extension, on archive.org but nothing was found for either search. The Early life birthdate is specifically referenced by this site, which barely mentions Sharma at all, and does not mention a birthdate whatsoever.

After doing my own searching, I found this site: http://www.haryanaassembly.gov.in/MLADetails.aspx?MLAID=893. This is apparently an official government site with a completely different birthdate listed, 12 March 1948. Given that this is the only reliably sourced birthdate, I have changed all other birthdates to this one and cited this source in the article. Now that the contradiction regarding birthdates has been resolved, I have removed the tag accordingly. CThomas3 (talk) 06:31, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
