Article work

[edit]

Wolfhound98, we can use the article's talk page to discuss working on the article. What issues with coding are you having? Here are a couple of suggestions:

  • Go to Template:Infobox film#Usage and copy the template code. You can paste it in the article and fill in the values. The poster image's name can be placed inside this code too.
  • See Help:Footnotes for how you can include footnotes correctly.

We should add content from secondary sources to reflect the topic's notability (see WP:GNG). When I arrived, I thought the film was not notable, but I researched it in Google and found periodicals covering the film. It would be include these periodicals' coverage in this Wikipedia article. We also want to make sure the topic is covered in a neutral tone and not a promotional one. For example, the Indiegogo ranking should have a reference from a secondary source so we know that the factoid has been noted outside the involved parties. Any other questions, please let me know! Wolfhound98, I've consolidated the references so they do not need to repeat in the "References" section. This can be done by creating a kind of tag (usually the author's name) and using that tag in additional uses of that reference, as you can see from the code. Let me know if you have any other questions. I have some feedback I can provide if you want. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 13:22, 20 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Erik, I am open to any feedback. Thanks for the edits and help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wolfhound98 (talkcontribs) 13:24, 20 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome! I'm glad to see you improve this article for the better. Here are some tips:
  • Link to works in the citation templates. For example, I linked to The Fayetteville Observer and The Washington Times. The others (except for The Havok Journal) can be linked.
  • Section headings should be in titlecase. For example, you would write "Hollywood stars" instead of "Hollywood Stars". This can be fixed where applicable.
  • The Indiegogo link in the article will need to be removed since external links cannot be in the article body itself. It can be kept at the "External links" section.
  • The "External links" section may warrant some additional removals. For example, since this film is a collaboration between companies, we want to avoid a promotional tone. So I think we should avoid linking to Ranger Up and Article 15 when they are not directly related to the film. Ranger Up has its own Wikipedia article, and its official link can go there. There is no Wikipedia article for the company Article 15, and maybe one can be created.
  • The "Crowd-sourcing campaign" section has some unsourced passages. They should all be supported by references. It helps to think long-term here; readers years in the future cannot tell if content without references is valid or not. If you cannot find any references supporting the material, you can migrate it to this talk page until the film is released and hopefully gets some coverage confirming these details.
