mistake[edit]

I think I made a mistake.

I created this article because it appeared in the list of articles that should be created here. But it turns out that there is already such a article here. What to do?? PeleYoetz (talk) 10:12, 10 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Rrjmrrr Help PeleYoetz (talk) 10:13, 10 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Make it a redirect if it already exists somewhere. Rrjmrrr (talk) 14:21, 10 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Notice: After looking more this seems like a variant of meat. I guess it can stay until there will be something like AfD, then there will be a discussion if it will be kept or deleted. For now, just keep it. Rrjmrrr (talk) 14:27, 10 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Realised that you can add this to the article and link to the main article which is this one. Just do it similarly to other meats in Types section.

I'll try. PeleYoetz (talk) 04:41, 13 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that the German-language wikipedia page for Rauchfleisch seems to be less of a parallel to the English-language page for smoked meat than it is a page for a separate regional varient of smoked meat. I have created a new WikiData item for this page and connected it to the German language page, which I have disconnected from the smoked meat wikidata item. I have also added rauchfleisch to the lists of dried meats and smoked meats. There are other locations that this page could be mentioned in, particularly german cuisine, austrian cuisine and bavarian cuisine, but I don't feel qualified to expand on the subject within those pages. ~ Trucks7op (talk) 21:17, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

After some thought I feel like this change in the Wikidata items is too disruptive to the German language wikipeda page, so I switched the corresponding wikidata items back. I welcome any other thoughts on how to go about this. Maybe this page should stand on its own as a regional variant despite being a direct translation of the German wikipedia page for smoked meat ~ Trucks7op (talk) 21:28, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
