Clarification of my recent edit . . .[edit]

Not sure who "Largoplazo" is or why he should be correcting the entry page about my Dad but the following was included in the update and deleted by "Largoplazo" . . . guess I just do not understand exactly how this Wikipedia stuff works . . . I thought the point was to have accurate entries. Part of the reason for deleting the info was that it is "in the first person" . . . reason is that I am, in fact, the first son of Ray Rasch. Deleted info follows . . . "More to follow . . . this page was originally posted by Raymond Paul (Dana) Rasch, III, who, unfortunately, did not have a clear understanding of the family history. I, Raymond Paul Rasch, II, will post further info regarding my Dad and the "Russell" controversy . . . quite frankly, this is an issue about "much ado about nothing" or "Gee, I want to be remembered too". - - Please note, Dana Robert Rasch, my Dad's second son and accomplished guitar player was not the "Dana" that originally posted this blog . . . It was my son, that we call Dana in remembrance and love of my brother. One would be blown away to hear Dana (Robert) play the guitar! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.33.59.3 (talk) 15:32, 19 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

If you're asking who I am to be be correcting the entry page about your Dad, or even if you're writing about your Dad, then you're right, you don't understand the nature of Wikipedia! Start with the Five Pillars of Wikipedia article and the article on What Wikipedia Is Not. One thing Wikipedia isn't is a MySpace, a personal scrapbook, a place to write about subjects and their details that are meaningful to you. Article content should be encyclopedic in nature, shouldn't contain discussion about the article, and should be from third-person point of view. Another thing about Wikipedia is that people don't own articles. Everything, unless restricted for one of several reasons, is open to editing by anyone who has a beneficial contribution or alteration to make that conforms to the principles of Wikipedia—or to make what's already in the article conform, even if that requires deletion. —Largo Plazo 15:51, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
