Merge[edit]

No way, best left by itself.

Agreed, this is an memorable enemy that occurs across at least three different Zelda games. The information presented is not spurious, nor is this article a stub. I vote for it to remain its own article.

If it was to be moved anywhere, then The Legend of Zelda series enemies would be a much better place to put it. Sonic Mew | talk to me 23:06, 15 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
it alread is. this page needs to be deleted...or made into a redirect.

I also agree. The ReDead article should not be merged, they warrant their own article. Are we all agreed then? We leave this where it is. I'll remove the tag. Trip: The Light Fantastic 13:15, 23 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This enemy never appears as a major enemy, appears only in three games (and in one has a different name), and could easily be trimmed of its fat. It can be ignored entirely in most of its required appearances, which contributes even more to its non-importance. While it is an enemy that many might be familiar with, it is not anything like Keese or Octoroks, which appear in nearly every game.
And how exactly do they warrant their own article? No argument was made for keeping them here other than an unbacked claim that they are "memorable" - a completely personal opinion.KrytenKoro 20:27, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, TLF, you can't assume consensus like that when the last few comments have been against it. Anyway - I'll give this another week, if no more arguments are made - so far, the burden of evidence lies in favor of merging, as well as the majority vote. After that period, I'll go ahead and merge it.KrytenKoro 07:36, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article should be left by itself. It's not a small enemy, appears in at least three games, has a unique style of attack other than the regular attack, they attempt to stun you first. They have their own unique weakness, and their own double (Gibdo), something almost no other LoZ enemy has. I say, leave this article alone! - ~VNinja~ 22:48, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

....What?! It's a small enemy in all three games (in two of them, it only appears for a few seconds in side-dungeons, and in OoT, you can just run past it without even paying attention to it), most enemies appear in more than three games, and there is a LOT of "double" enemies. Everything you just claimed was incorrect (except for the "unique attack" - but many enemies try to stun you first).
Anyway - since so far no actual argument for keeping it here has been made (only opinions), I'm going to go ahead and merge it now.KrytenKoro 23:47, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Move please[edit]

I think that the redead should be removed from the villan races and just left in The Legend of Zelda enemy seires. —Preceding unsigned comment added by VenomousNinja (talkcontribs)

Article name[edit]

Why is this article named Gibdo instead of ReDead? Seems like the main article is about ReDeads with Gibdo being a specific kind of ReDead. --TheKoG 17:58, 6 March 2006 (UTC) Good point...I don't think the average gamer remembers the name "gibdo".[reply]

Moved per point. Scepia 19:53, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

About that... I moved it from Redead to Gibdo, but I was messing around and was very, very new then. ~VNinja~ 23:54, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Picture[edit]

This (as well as others for tLoZ, desperately needs a picture. Scepia 19:53, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I understand what you are trying to say, but that picture is soooooo f***** scary! I saw them in the Ocarina of Time game when I was eight and I had nightmares for a week! Please don't laugh at me. Funfair15 5:30 PM, 23 June 2007

Ughh!! I HATE Wind Waker ReDeads!! For the love of Godzilla I hate the way they scream!--Sonic,Pikachu,and Snorunt 22:26, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Twilight Princess[edit]

We desperately need a picture of the Twilight Princess redead, considering how unique those ones are from the rest.SilentWind 14:54, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dubious paragraph[edit]

In Ocarina of Time:, if the player kills a ReDead or a Gibdo, the others will walk to it and then crouch down or look down at it. Once it fades away, the ReDeads will walk to its original spot. This habit appears again in Wind Waker. A ReDead will not attack you when it is walking to the corpse but once it fades, then it will attack you. After the ReDeads returned to its original spot, it will turn around and stare at you as long as you are in the same room as it. Then it will try to walk over to you but if you are too far from it, it will go back to its original spot. ReDeads can be stunned temporarily by playing the Sun's Song.

I really get the impression that whoever wrote this misinterpretted the movements of a few ReDeads. I have never seen ReDeads walk over to a dead ReDead and crouch down at it, and but I know the ReDeads in the Market can never stun you, for whatever reason, which is probably why this user interpreted a few of the walking ReDeads as "not attacking you and walking towards a corpse". And as far as I know, ReDeads never "return to their original spot". They only stop moving when you're far enough away. It also seems to imply the Redeads staring at you is a condition that follows returning to its original spot. (Whether or not that was the intent of the wording, I don't know.) They only stare at you if you're close enough, not just if you're in the same room. The statement about the Sun's Song is just redundant, seeing as how it's already been mentioned.

I removed the paragraph from the article, but in case I happen to be wrong or something, I just thought I'd put it here for discussion. --Foot Dragoon 01:17, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's true. The ReDeads do return to their original place if you are out of their "sight range." Try it in the room of the Shadow Temple with the invisible spikes. As for the ReDeads walking to the corpse: I am pretty sure they do walk towards to their corpse but I'm not positive though. -- The magnum master 02:00, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
