I thought this was an excellent article. /Roger, 2019-01-17

Rx has been around since 2009

[edit]

Here's an article from November 2009 introducing Rx for .NET: https://web.archive.org/web/20091119174153/http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/devlabs/ee794896.aspx

And in March 2010 the same website reports Rx for JavaScript is now available: https://web.archive.org/web/20100323000439/http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/devlabs/ee794896.aspx

Here is a contemporary forum thread talking about the release of RxJs: https://web.archive.org/web/20100322200127/http://channel9.msdn.com/posts/Charles/Introducing-RxJS-Reactive-Extensions-for-JavaScript/

This is notable because many people consider Knockout.js to be the first to introduce reactivity primitives to JavaScript, but people in the “Introducing Knockout.js” blogpost were already asking how does it differ from RxJs: https://blog.stevensanderson.com/2010/07/05/introducing-knockout-a-ui-library-for-javascript/ Michal Grňo (talk) 08:59, 24 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
