Electoral results

[edit]

Can someone write something about the electoral results of the party? --Checco 13:31, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The party doesn't receive money from public budget (other parties takes public money) and it has financial problems. It consistently enjoys the support of approximately 2-4% of voters. UPR'candidates were starting from a new conservative-liberal organisation Janusz Korwin-Mikke's Platform (Platforma Janusza Korwin-Mikke). PJKM didn't manage to cross the required 5% threshold in the 2005 parliamentary elections. It party had the support 2% of voters. --Miszaromuk
Good. Write it in the article! --Checco 08:19, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I change "doesn't recive" to "doesn't take", to inform UPR don't want this money.

I can say that in this elections (october this year, the campaign had started) UPR is going in coalition with nacional-conservative party "Liga Polskich Rodzin" ( League of Polish Families) and with catholic-conservative "Prawica RP" (Right of the Republic), from the list od LPR (League of the Right of the Republic) It's an election coalition. In one of the polls they have 7% of support. And they started an internet campaign just now. You can see it on this blog made by Young supporters of UPR

The flag

[edit]
A special colour variation of St George's Cross

Why does the article say this? Was it a documented, public decision by the party to produce something that was "a special colour variation of St George's Cross" (whatever that means), or did the editor who wrote that just think it was? Heraldically, this is not any kind of variation of St George's cross, because the colours are different: just because two designs have a single honourable ordinary in common doesn't make them variations of one another. Yes they wrote in their party statute that their flag is blue St George's Cross with white edge on black background. In polish here http://upr.polityczne.net/Statut_UPR —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.16.109.58 (talk) 00:25, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Support for NAFTA?

[edit]

Is that supposed to read "support for NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization)"? I didn't realise the US/Canada/Mexico free trade agreement was such a hot topic in European politics!99.237.223.144 (talk) 12:02, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's not. UPR is actually in favour of Poland _joining_ the NAFTA. George Bush senior in 1992, during his presidential campaign inJuly, made a very brief mention of a possibility of Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary joining the NAFTA. NAFTA agreement was signed in December 1992, and these countries were not included. Nowadays it seems more of a wishful thinking, but UPR is still in favour of trying to negotiate Poland's entry into NAFTA. See this page: http://www.asme.pl/serwis/arch/24-25-2000.html (in Polish), http://www.magazynfakty.pl/a87-unia-europejska.htm (in Polish) or this one: http://www.mail-archive.com/pen-l@galaxy.csuchico.ed/msg69584.html. I could not find any reliable source of the speech itself, but the first two links may be considered reliable sources for the existence of such a policy of UPR. ~~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.206.138.147 (talk) 18:14, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, the last link should be: http://www.mail-archive.com/pen-l%40galaxy.csuchico.edu/msg69584.html —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.206.138.147 (talk) 18:22, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I remember that JKM wrote somewhere that Poland is closer to New York than Honolulu is. Haveanaccount1 (talk) 17:20, 2 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
