Rebecca Robinson

Now that she's married, does anyone think that we should contact Wikipedia and ask for the page name to be changed? --5 albert square (talk) 16:44, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

She did say after she got married that she was now Mrs Robinson. We could wait till 11th Jan and see if she is credited as Robinson, but I think the page should be changed. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 16:30, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
OK, we'll "close" this discussion until 11th January then and see what they credit her as. I'm kind of reluctant to change it until then as according to Neighbours' Australian website, she is still Rebecca Napier! [1]

Page Updates - Pirate.Net

OK, somebody has thoughtfully added to Rebecca's page that she is now CEO of Pirate.Net but has not expanded on this!

Can someone please update the page with more information on this? How did she become CEO of Pirate.Net? I'm quite sure that Lost Boy aka Zeke didn't suddenly just appear one morning with the keys asking her if she'd like the job! --5 albert square (talk) 17:22, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

Ah, it would have been nice if the article was updated at the same time. Zeke got into a bit of trouble and the original owner of Pirate.Net decided to pull the plug on the funding due to the publicity surrounding Zeke, so Paul brought the station and put Rebecca in charge. I'll try and find a reference and update the article. - JuneGloom07 Talk? 19:33, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

Robinson or Napier

Hmmmm, I'm now wondering if this article should have been moved from Rebecca Napier.

I'm just thinking, she's been known for most of her time in Neighbours as Rebecca Napier as she didn't get married until this year. The official UK Neighbours website credits her as Rebecca Robinson, as do the Neighbours credits rolling at the end of the programme, however Neighbours official Australian website credits her as Rebecca Napier!

Google search for Rebecca Napier brings up for me 686,000 results, searching for Rebecca Robinson brings up 298,000 results but there's a paegant holder of the same name, Rebecca Robinson so it could be including her in that.

Do we move the page back to Rebecca Napier, or keep it where it is? --5 albert square (talk) 23:41, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

I searched "rebecca robinson" neighbours -wiki -wikpedia and "rebecca napier" neighbours -wiki -wikpedia and got almost twice as many results for Napier. Seems likely her WP:COMMONNAME is Rebecca Napier and my personal opinion is that the original name of a character should be used for an article title, even a character in a long running soap opera, unless they do actually become better known by the other name and it's used for a much longer time in the series. Up to you lol AnemoneProjectors 23:58, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
Rebecca got married at the end of last year, so she's been a Robinson for 11 months. This one is not as straightforward as Bridget's move as she has actually been credited as Rebecca Robinson. I think perhaps we should invoke WP:COMMONNAME. Though do we need to establish what's more reliable; the official website or the credits? Someone may contest the move, saying the credits call her Robinson. - JuneGloom Schmooze 00:42, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
Hmmmmm if that's the case I would go by the official website and change the page back to Napier --5 albert square (talk) 01:07, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
Presumably she was originally credited as Rebecca Napier though. AnemoneProjectors 02:25, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
Yes, originally credited as Rebecca Napier --5 albert square (talk) 20:59, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
She is still known as Napier in some articles, not all. Spent longer as Napier. It was changed at point in time when me and Junegloom were just getting started on the articles for Neighbours, so it slipped right through our control. We can do something about it now though. Napier for me. =)
So does it go back to Rebecca Napier? --5 albert square (talk) 22:23, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
Was just thinking about this when I typed out her name for Michael's article and I'm really not sure about it now. Just discovered that she's going to be renewing her vows with Paul in a future storyline, so changing her name back to Napier when she's essentially becoming a Robinson again is going to be very odd. I think perhaps we should wait. - JuneGloom Schmooze 22:54, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
That doesn't change the fact that Napier is her "common name" though. AnemoneProjectors 02:26, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
That's exactly what I was thinking AP. I'm thinking the page should move back to Rebecca Napier as per WP:COMMONNAME.--5 albert square (talk) 10:05, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

Last name

Thought I'd bring this up again since Rebecca has returned. Checking the credits today, Rebecca's last name has reverted back to Napier. This was also shown in the previous episode on a letter. Channel 5 used both names in their article about her [6]; Digital Spy uses Robinson [7]; the official AU site uses Napier [8]. Should the article still be Robinson or moved back to Napier? Do we need a hits box? - JuneGloom Talk 14:31, 26 February 2014 (UTC)

Article name change.

The article title here should really be changed from Robinson to Napier. Rebecca was married to Paul from late 2009 to early 2011.Upon her 2014 return, she was billed in the closing credits as "Rebecca Napier" throughout her stint. B.Davis2003 (talk) 09:48, 10 January 2019 (UTC)

I'd say no. I get more hits for Rebecca Robinson than I do for Rebecca Napier, therefore Rebecca Robinson is the WP:COMMONNAME.-- 5 albert square (talk) 17:03, 10 January 2019 (UTC)
But it's inaccurate... Her and Paul are divorced and the show itself credits her as Napier. B.Davis2003 (talk) 08:00, 11 January 2019 (UTC)
@B.Davis2003: - You need to provide evidence that her WP:COMMONNAME is Rebecca Napier. No one cares about a fictional marriage when it comes to moving articles around.Rain the 1 11:56, 11 January 2019 (UTC)
It doesn't matter what the show credit her as etc, what matters are Wikipedia's rules, the show does not go by Wikipedia's rules. "Rebecca Robinson Neighbours" returns about 960,000 hits, "Rebecca Napier Neighbours" returns 457,000 hits, as per Wikipedia rules that makes Rebecca Robinson the common name for her. The BBC call Kat Slater by the name of Kat Moon, we don't call her that on Wikipedia because it's not her common name. We can't have one rule for one article and another rule for the whole of the rest of the encyclopedia.-- 5 albert square (talk) 12:08, 11 January 2019 (UTC)
Got to agree that Robinson is her WP:COMMONNAME. She had about two years as Napier, and two years as Robinson. Then 10 episodes as Napier again, which isn't really that conclusive. I've provided a hits box, feel free to add to it. - JuneGloom07 Talk 14:44, 11 January 2019 (UTC)

Surname

An advance notice particularly for the benefit of 5 albert square, JuneGloom07 and AnemoneProjectors, I anticipate formally requesting this page returns to Rebecca Napier when the character reappears on-screen next week, per previous discussions at #Robinson or Napier and #Last name, sources around her 2019 return and - assuming this is the case - her credited name in 2019. Seems everyone was in agreement previously, but the action was never taken - so her imminent return to the show would seem a suitable moment to address matters. Cheers! U-Mos (talk) 05:01, 28 August 2019 (UTC)

No need U-Mos, as there was previous consensus I just moved it.-- 5 albert square (talk) 23:33, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
Even easier then, top job! U-Mos (talk) 23:49, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
