Untitled[edit]

Concern was raised that this event was not annual. As indicated on the events' Facebook pages, Recovery Day is growing across Canada after the success of the Vancouver and Victoria events and will exist on a larger scale in 2013.

This event raises awareness for an important issue that is rarely discussed and often misunderstood. It is part of a movement to address the fact that while addictions have a huge effect on modern societies, resources allocated by governments towards solving this health issue are rarely adequate.

While I agree that the recognition of those in recovery is an important issue, I do not agree that this event is notable. The fact that there are Facebook pages touting next year's event is meaningless. (Is there a group that doesn't have a Facebook group anymore?) A "National Day of <xxx>" is only notable if the national government of said place has actually declared such a day and if people have actually taken note of such a declaration on multiple occasions. A "Day of <xxx" that is only observed in a few locations (and thus far only once) is not notable at all. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:35, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
