"Red August" or "The Red August"

The current article seems to favour "the Red August" over just "Red August", this is in accord with most of the sources, which also seem to favour "the Red August", however may other adjectived months in English, such as Red October, Black December, Bloody May, Black October etc. do not use "the", and some sources for Red August don't use "the" either. Should this article stick with "The Red August" or change to simply "Red August" instead? TypeKnight03 (talk) 20:03, 10 August 2023 (UTC)

Sure, we can consistently use just "Red August" in the article. SCreditC (talk) 17:23, 11 August 2023 (UTC)

Too Many Citations

I think it's abundantly clear that this article, especially the lead section, has way too many citations even for basic facts. The entire article probably falls into WP:TOOMANYREFS territory. For example, I highly doubt the very first sentence needs six citations just to show that Red August was a series of massacres in August 1966 during the Cultural Revolution.

Ok. It should be easy to fix. SCreditC (talk) 17:24, 11 August 2023 (UTC)
