[edit]

The Red Front predates 1987 by a LONG time! IN the 30's Hitler's Brown Shirts fought the Red Front and in Britain the Black Shirts sang of standing up against the "Red Front"... This article needs updating to reflect this fact.

This article is on the Red Front, a specific organisation, founded in 1987. You refer to "Red Front" as firstly the Rotfrontkämpferbund, and secondly as a generic term for a popular front. We have other articles on these things. Warofdreams talk 16:40, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I added a bit of history to this article to expand it, and I was historically accurate, yet when I checked in about 1 hour later, my historical correction was revised and edited out... Is this website interested in actual history or politically correct versions of history?

Please read what I wrote above. The information you added may well be historically accurate, and of great benefit in the articles I linked. It is not, however, relevant in this article. It might be more appropriate to move the article to a disambiguated title, and have a list of related terms under this title, to prevent any future confusion. All I'm suggesting is that the term "Red Front" goes back in history long before 1987... I can qute german lyrics of the Horst Wessel Lied which was from 1934 (I think)and those lyrics also mention fascists fighting Red Front...

My whole point is that you seem to imply in your article that the term "Red Front" only appeared in 1987... When History proves this to be incorrect...

If you think there is a better place, move it there. This is a newcomer, you'd rather help him, rather than discourage from editing. The text in question is a piece of useful historical information missing from wikipedia, not a piece of trivia.. IMO it is better to have in a wrong place than not to have at all. `'Miikka 17:58, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
BTW, please also dont remove the request for refferences tag. This is not a common knowledge and requires verification, stub or not. `'Miikka 18:01, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey fella, I'm not out to get you, I'm a newcomer too... and I would never try to hurt you... it is and remains my goal to try and present the truth to the reader... I'm sorry if you feel I'm picking on you, believe me, that is the last thing on my mind! I'm trying, like you, to present the truth to the surfing public... I'm sorry if you feel I was attacking you... I was not.. I'm just trying to do the right thing and make this wikipedia website as accurate as possible... I'm not here for war... I'm her for accuracy... as are you... we can work together to make this article more complete...  :)

I have suggested some other useful places where this information may be valuable. Without any references or detailed knowledge of the topics, it would be irresponsible of me to move it elsewhere. If you have sufficient knowledge to feel able to do so, please do. As with any user acting in good faith, I have tried to be helpful. I am surprised that you believe it is better to have information in the wrong place than not to have it at all. I entirely disagree. I have no problem with the references tag, I assumed as you added it at the same time as re-entering the irrelevant information, that it was connected with that, but I agree that references for the article as it stands are highly desirable. While I disagree with you on the issue of preservation of information, it is not vital for me, so I am abandoning the issue. `'Miikka 18:38, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
