The Red Shaver is not a breed. Canada has ONE native breed, the Chantecler. Red shaver refers to a red sex-link hybrid, the point of which is that newly-hatched chicks are of different colour depending on whether male or female, and can therefore be sold to buyers desiring one or the other. If you breed red shavers together, this key quality is completely lost, and the second generation chicks are mutts with variable qualities males and females now hatching of the same mix of colours.

None of the references are valid links. Unless an author can come up with some specific information distinguishing this from any other of the dozens of names for hatchery hybrids, suggest removing the page permanently and redirecting Red Shaver seekers to the general Sex-Link Chicken page... which incidentally needs some serious help of its own, but at least warrants existence.
