NPOV?

I noticed that under "Unsatisfied customers", an apparent disgruntled employee has placed what seems to be a list of unsubstantiated claims, such as violating OSHA, and having the "worst food." It is not that the comments are without merit possibly, if proven, but they seem to put forth a belief that is not neutral. If there was controversy involving the food or the safety standards, fine. However, there is nothing listed and we are told to ask a certain person about these allegations. I am considering removing that section.

History of Regal before 1999?

Nothing about Regal's charitable organization Stars of Hope? I'm curious as to how much of every donation ends up going to a worthy cause.

A high percentage (97%+) goes to the "Stars of Hope" due to Regal corporate employees donating a portion of their work week to lower administrative costs, however; whether or not the causes are worth is debatable. A large sum of money was apparently given to a PAC in Colorado to help fund the Gay Marriage Amendment, as a primary Regal shareholder Philip Anshutz is a know right-wing conservate. Advertisement content condensed

I condensed two sections' worth of apparent corporate propaganda into a single sentence about the advertisement corporation jointly owned with AMC Theatres. Removed includes such non-notable gems as details on the frequent-customer program, details on the bulk sale of tickets, and that the State of New Jersey gave out such tickets to students for participating in certain surveys. I have re-added most of this content for the time being. The main reason being that the Wiki article on AMC theatres has a detailed section about their frequent-customer program (MovieWatcher), yet you still found it prudent to remove any mention of the Regal Crown Club entirely. I also do not understand why items such as the bulk ticket sales are not relevant. Certainly a business practice of a company is worthy of mention in an article about the company. Mentioning that Regal has found a market in bulk ticket sales is no different than talking about how AMC has comfortable seats, imho. This article certainly does not advertise or urge readers to go out and buy bulk tickets. If anything, the AMC article is much more positive and endorsing of AMC, mentioning almost all positive things that would encourage someone to attend AMC, more than this article encourages the purchase of bulk tickets.

If you still take issue with some of this, I understand, Tempshill, and I certainly concede that you seem to be a much more experienced Wikipedia contributor than I. However, certainly you can appreciate how it is hypocritical to remove Regal Crown Club but not AMC Movie Watcher. Also, surely the best policy is not to just remove things from this article and make it as short as possible.

If anything, this article needs more information. I hope that any good editors/researchers out there can add more information on Regal Cinemas prior to the formation of the Entertainment Group, et cetera, and how Regal influences the industry, being the largest member of the National Association of Theatre Owners.

Yes, I am an employee of Regal Entertainment Group (full disclosure), but I am not even in a management position. I simply want this article to be on par with that of other movie exhibition companies on Wikipedia and I dont think deleting masses of information is the way to go about that Penguincube 02:32, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Death of a President

I removed the following text because it is extremely biased and unsourced. If someone wanted to re-add it I suggest it be reworded but I don't think it belongs at all.

"While showing films with incredible carnage, horrific death, and senseless violence, Regal Entertainment Group has recently chosen not to show the film "Death of a President" due to release in theaters October 27, 2006. Presumably this is due to the portrayal of the US president getting assassinated by terrorists. It has been argued publicly that Regal Entertainment Group is selectively sanitizing the film viewing choices of the US public."

Closing theaters?

Is there any news on them closing theaters?

Yeah that's that ticket. The "Regal family" phrase seemed out of place, but admissible, and the crown club section was a bit advertisingish, but I'm not complaining unless further consensus is reached.--CM (talk) 01:52, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Regal Movie ticket prices

I have been an avid movie goer but the ticket prices at Regal is charging these days is very unfair especially when all the money is going to the actors and directers in these office budget films. I think with 3D here them charging at much as $15.00 there is going to be a bubble burst in the movie business till they can control their pricing[1][2]. Paying $15.00 for a 3D is more expensive than buying the movie on Blue Ray. I hope that the media will talk about these ticket prices as I have no idea where all the money comes from to pay for these $100 million movies but with the rate of inflation movies are much more expensive than ever and I just disagree with Regal charging these high prices to go to movies.--24.205.238.10 (talk) 05:43, 24 September 2010 (UTC)

"Theater Fight" section?

This is a large corporation with hundreds of theaters. What seems like a typical brawl at a theater should not be showcased on the WIkipedia page unless similar incidents of similar scale are also showcased (which would probably number in the thousands for a company like this). Layoffs

I don't see the encyclopedic need for this insert: "In June 2011, Regal began downsizing its theater employees, removing managers from projection and replacing them with lower paid floor staff. This move allowed Regal to layoff part time managers across the country and forcibly demote many full time managers to part time and part time managers to floor staff." I got scrwed by REG and even I think it's out of line for wikipedia. Removed unless someone can think of a better way to put it in. Aml830 (talk) 22:52, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

Regal Premium Experience

The article says they use dual projectors, are they dual 2K projectors to give 4K; or dual 4K projectors to give 8K resolution. Or, do they double the brightness by projecting the same lines of a 4K image. Can anyone find a reference? --RAN (talk) 17:09, 12 October 2017 (UTC)

Regal Unlimited

There is currently buzz about Regal's own Unlimited movie plan being released US-wide... with very similar guidelines as the Cineworld Unlimited plan in the UK.
