The All Saints' Chapel is described as a Zentralbau. I translated it as "rotunda", although octagonal and Greek-cross-shaped churches can also be denoted by that word: see de:Zentralbau. If anyone knows the specific shape of the chapel, please post here about it and edit the text appropriately. Thanks! Chonak 07:05, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Rotunda" is wrong, the chapel's outline is a Triconchos (cf. de:Trikonchos). --FordPrefect42 10:02, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed. Thanks. Chonak 13:50, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • A particularity of Regensburg Cathedral is its spatial separation from the older cloister which, because of a southwestward relocation, arose across from the earlier Romanesque cathedral. This reads awkwardly. I can't really comment on the gist of the original german but would a better english translation be :- A peculiarity of Regensburg Cathedral is it's spatial separation from the older cloister, which arose because of its southwestward expansion from the earlier Romanesque cathedral.?--Mcginnly 12:44, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
expansion isn't quite it. relocation means here, that the new gothic cathedral itself was built somewhat apart from the cloister, only partially overlapping the seating of its romanesque predecessor church. dislocation? displacement? --FordPrefect42 13:09, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • Agreed. I've recast the sentence somewhat freely: An unusual feature of Regensburg Cathedral is its separation from the structure of the older cloister. This separation came about when the church was rebuilt and displaced to the southwest of the earlier Romanesque cathedral. Chonak 22:58, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
