Comments[edit]

Good work but couple of things before B-Class:

  • I don't think his suicide could be considered "inexplicable" if he was depressed and exhausted -- do we mean "without warning" or some such?
  • Check Harv errors -- you know the script to use?

P.S. ISBNs or OCLCs would be good for Hargest and Neame, especially if you're taking to GAN. Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 05:01, 2 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the feedback Ian, I have made some tweaks in response to your comments. I do have the Harv script installed but it is not picking up any errors. Have changed the ref formats for now. Zawed (talk) 05:18, 2 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Odd -- anyway, changes look good. Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 05:29, 2 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Passing comment[edit]

I don't at present have the time to review this article for GA, but I have noticed that you haven't included information on his parentage. This is available in the Dictionary of New Zealand Biography article you cite. I wonder why their names aren't in the article? It is, after all, standard practice. With this article being quite short, it is often best to mine to the sources as much as possible. —Noswall59 (talk) 13:00, 28 February 2016 (UTC).[reply]

Will aim to get to this over the coming week. Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 07:32, 20 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Toolbox checks -- no dab or EL issues.

Prose/structure/content

  • Copyedited a bit as usual so pls let know if any concerns.
  • I think little flags and icons in the infobox are deprecated under WP:MOSFLAG so I don't use them in bios but I won't force the issue if you prefer them.

Referencing -- I think self-published sources are generally frowned upon but the Haigh & Polaschek book supports fairly uncontroversial info and this isn't A/FA so I'd say it's fair enough; no concerns with the others and the formatting looks okay.

Images -- licensing looks okay although I'd have thought it should be consistent for both pictures (the second includes a PD-1996 tag but the first doesn't; might be safer to add that to the first)

Nice work on an ultimately tragic figure whom I hadn't heard of before this article. Pretty well ready to pass but will await your feedback re. the copyediting and image tag before I finalise. Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 13:25, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ian, thanks for the review. Your copyedits look good, I saw you corrected a couple of howler typos! I have deleted flags/icons from the infobox (I prefer their usage but suspect I would be in the minority). A tag has also been added to the infobox image. Cheers. Tks, passing now. Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 07:37, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
