Removal of Mountain Empire, North Mountain, and Cuyumaca regions[edit]

I put it as a note just because the article is about the regions, so info about subregions is not as important, but that's more of a stylistic issue. Dohn joe (talk) 00:57, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps, but shouldn't the article also be expanded to included subregions? As creating a subregion article just for mentioning the subregions, when they could be mentioned in the region article seems like an unnecessary task. 08OceanBeach SD (talk) 01:38, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It could be expanded, but my worry there is we already have enough trouble with definitions of the regions, and just looking at SANDAG's maps, they list 63 subregions, along with about 25 community planning areas - just of the unincorporated county. The reason I created the Mountain Empire article was because it's a term in common use with a pretty well-defined area - you can find it in literature outside of SANDAG and county planning documents, which isn't the case for "Palomar-Julian" or "North Mountain" - those seem to be merely bureaucratic subdivisions. If you have a vision for how to present the subregions, I'd love to hear it, though. Dohn joe (talk) 16:55, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No, you bring up a good point. Those cities - Julian, Laguna, Warner Springs etc. - just don't neatly fit into any one region. It's fine as a note. 08OceanBeach SD (talk) 01:03, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
