Misstatement

One sentence reads:

"Stephen Smale classified the regular homotopy classes of a k-sphere immersed in Rn – they are classified by homotopy groups of Stiefel manifolds, which is a generalization of the Gauss map, with here k partial derivatives not vanishing."

Not at all. Homotopy groups of Stiefel manifolds are not a generalization of the Gauss map — for so many reasons. Maybe someone can please fix this.Daqu (talk) 02:57, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
