The notation rsd

The disambiguation page RSD lists rsd as the (supposedly) single abbreviation or notation for relative standard deviation, but the actual article does not, listing RSD and %RSD instead. JöG (talk) 12:14, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't this the same as "coefficient of variation"?

Coefficient of variation is SD / mean. SD is always positive. Most measured quantities are positive. So coefficient of variation is mostly posistive anyway. If I understand this correctly Relative standard deviation is different from the coefficient of variation in the rare case when a quantitz of negative mean is measured.
