First Win in the First Race

[edit]

Likewise Gustavo Thöni in December 1969, Renate did win by competing in her first World Cup Race. Of course, she was an unknown racer at that time - maybe, besides her family, only her (immediate) neighbours in her home village and Officials of the Austrian Ski Federation did know her. She was behind in the start list and had bib number 42. The best racers of the world (in slalom and giant slalom) have numbers from one to eight. In female slalom races, number 42 remains as the highest number to win a World Cup race up to now. Skiscout (talk) 14:58, 18 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
