Merge from 'National Renewable Energy Action Plan' article due to high level of duplication[edit]

The National Renewable Energy Action Plan (NREAP) is virtually identical to this page, except for the two paragraphs in the lead section. I therefore propose bring that information across to here and then deleting the NREAP page. Any comments? RobbieIanMorrison (talk) 08:15, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

After working on the merge, I have have decided that both pages should exist but that their content should be better differentiated. I expect to update both articles within the next few days. Best wishes. RobbieIanMorrison (talk) 10:26, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Rename page to make it more explicit[edit]

I propose this page be moved to EU Renewable Energy Directive 2009/28/EC. This would separate it from and be more consistent with the earlier Directive on Electricity Production from Renewable Energy Sources article — which itself should be moved to EU Directive on Electricity Production from Renewable Energy Sources 2001/77/EC. Any comments. RobbieIanMorrison (talk) 08:27, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Carried out renaming to 'EU Directive on Electricity Production from Renewable Energy Sources 2001/77/EC'. RobbieIanMorrison (talk) 14:07, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Update/missing information[edit]

This page was updated to say that, by 2015, member countries are on track to meet the 20% aggregate renewable energy goal. I feel like it would be more complete to add data directly to the Wiki supporting this. Data and statistics to show an updated renewable energy usage from the most recently available data would provide any reader with more accurate data since we are approaching the end date of this policy in 2020.

On a second note, I believe a hyperlink from this website: https://ec.europa.eu/energy/en/topics/renewable-energy/national-action-plans , would be a great addition as a direct reference to the action plans put in place in 2010 by the E.U. member nations

Missing Perspective/Viewpoint[edit]

While understandably, this is a pro-environment and renewable energy wiki page, I was wondering if there are any underrepresented voices from any of the E.U. member states pertaining to this agreement? Maybe those who were not so much in favor of such a deal; possibly in countries such as Belgium or the U.K. who had a very low percentage of energy from renewable sources to begin with at the start of this proposal?
