Speedy Deletion

[edit]

This article's content has been copied from the Spanish article es:Repertorio Americano, it has been translated with an internet translator (I know that because even I can see the errors), and then it's been pasted here. Also note the upward arrows for references in this version, and the upward arrows in the Spanish reference section. That is how they reference article on the Spanish language Wikipedia. This page should not be speedy deleted because... it is an English article about a Costa Rican cultural magazine. Thus the title will not change.

It is a bad translation from es:Repertorio Americano. The English article says "Repertorio Americano was a cultural magazine published in San Jose, Costa Rica by Joaquin Garcia Monge, on and off between 1919 and 1958. It is was significant because it was an important forum of discussion for the Latin American intellectual of the period. His editor considered the journalist like promoters of ideas and democratic ideals for the common good." (I have copied the incorrect translation directly). This page should not be speedy deleted because... --AmerikanoestudiosCR (talk) 21:15, 23 June 2011 (UTC)it has been created by a community of language learners in CR, under the banner of AMERIKANOESTUDIOS, who profoundly believe in the need to share bits and pieces of our culture, like the REPERTORIO AMERICANO, with the English speaking community.[reply]

Likewise, we will be embarking efforts to share with the global Spanish populace, via translation, the vast amounts of information found in the ENGLISH wiki via the SPANISH wiki. AmerikanoestudiosCR (talk) 22:11, 23 June 2011 (UTC)AmerikanoestudiosCR[reply]

I am very sorry, but Wikipedia should not be used as WP:WEBSPACE. I can see that your intentions are good, but that is not enough. This is an encyclopaedic. You would not expect to find homework assignments in any other encyclopaedia; so why on Wikipedia? Fly by Night (talk) 21:22, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As visionary of this endeavor we value the efforts made and commit to editorial overseeing of any project carried out by the AMERIKANOESTUDIOS COMMUNITY. Furthermore, I feel like both your time and ours would be better spent working on more articles, encouraging more kids...or simply editing the project in question.

THE BIGGER PICTURE SCREAMS that no harm has been done, but rather seeds of intellectual engage within a global sphere at a small age have been profoundly sown. IMAGINE THE REPERCUSSIONS OF AN ENTIRE GENERATION SELFLESSLY INVOLVED IN WHAT WIKI TRULY IS...an ongoing, and improving...encyclopaedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AmerikanoestudiosCR (talkcontribs) 21:55, 23 June 2011 (UTC) AmerikanoestudiosCR (talk) 22:14, 23 June 2011 (UTC)AmerikanoestudiosCR[reply]
