Psycological Resistance[edit]

Merge proposal, June 2019[edit]

Thanks to Jacobisq for creating the content in the new articles Id resistance and Superego resistance. I propose that these two articles be merged into Resistance (psychoanalysis) § Forms of resistance, where they would fit well among "Ego resistance" etc. It does not appear to me that there is enough content about these very specialized psychoanalytic terms to justify separate articles, although, once merged, the Id resistance and Superego resistance redirect wikilinks may prove useful. @Jacobisq: Why not just merge the other articles in under new subheadings that match the titles of the existing (id & superego) articles? The 2nd-level headings in those articles would then become 4th-level headings in this article. And just delete the sections that describe the same idea using another name. Tentative support. To this layman (who therefore (a) doesn't know what he's talking about, but (b) is among the target audience), this proposal makes a great deal of sense.

From their names, I imagine that all three concepts are of Freudian origin. It might be better still to combine all three into a new article, called (say) Resistance (Freudian), to avoid unbalancing the summary section Resistance (psychoanalysis)#Forms of resistance, and linked from there as {{main}}, as other important topics already are.

Redirects to whatever might be the final target would definitely be useful and should be kept. Narky Blert (talk) 07:41, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
