Errors in Plot[edit]

Having just acquired a copy of this book after first reading it as a child over 56 years ago, I notice that the final part of the plot summary states that "The grateful Hesikans help to repair the visitors' spaceship and they return to Earth". This is not the case. In the first book, the initial spaceship is damaged on landing and all but Dr. McKinnon return to Earth in the second spaceship build by Professor Hermanoff. Hermanoff's spaceship then returns to Hesikos to rescue Dr. McKinnon, who has stayed with his damaged ship. After landing, the rescue ship is damaged by the extreme low temperatures of the Hesikos winter. A third ship is then constructed on Earth to rescue Dr. McKinnon and his rescuers. This ship lands successful without damage and carries a Jeep, which the party use to explore and to discover the Hesikans. The Jeep is damaged in a flood, and is repaired by the Hesikans before the earthlings unblock the underground river to restore power to the Hesikan city. Therefore, the only thing the Hesikans repair for the earthlings is their Jeep, not the third spaceship, which performs flawlessly.
