I've quoted heavily from Hooker, since his words have passed into the public domain, and he gives a compelling description. With time, I suppose most of it should be rephrased into a more encyclopedic tone, preserving a sentence here and there as a short quotation. Melchoir 22:04, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, I've got it. Melchoir 09:31, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

can anyone please put an original photo of the plant...sketch is not sufficient here —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 131.188.98.139 (talkcontribs) 11:04, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

I agree, that would be great. I've listed this at Wikipedia:Requested pictures#Plants. Melchoir 06:42, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
William Baker has given permission for use of his photograph on wikipedia. [1] (tyger 14:51, 19 June 2006 (UTC))[reply]
Thanks! But... it looks like Baker hasn't released the image under a free license, and we really shouldn't be using {{permission}}. I don't suppose you could ask him to mark the original as GFDL or similar? Melchoir 15:13, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm new to this...so just bare with me :). What do you mean by mark the original as GFDL? He just simply said, "ok" to use the photograph on wiki. I posted the last email i got from him under the summary of the photograph.(tyger 16:31, 19 June 2006 (UTC))[reply]
Well, I can point you to Wikipedia:Boilerplate request for permission, which probably explains the issue better than I could. Melchoir 17:01, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sent an email for GFDL. Waiting for response now. (tyger 18:39, 19 June 2006 (UTC))[reply]
Awesome. Melchoir 18:45, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Got it. Photo is under GFDL now. (tyger 01:28, 20 June 2006 (UTC))[reply]
Perfect! You might want to be more explicit about that on the image description page, just for paranoia, but I'm not going to complain. Thanks again! Melchoir 01:41, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
