Proposed merge 2014-09-06[edit]

I propose that the article Rho Coronae Borealis b is merged into this one. The object has consistently been found by astrometric measurements to be a low-mass star in a nearly face-on orbit (see Reffert & Quirrenbach (2011)), and is in fact no longer listed in the Extrasolar Planets Encyclopaedia as a confirmed planet [1]. It therefore does not make sense to have an entire separate article dedicated to discussing this object as a planet, this misrepresents the current state of knowledge. As such I believe it should be merged into a section of this article: the Rho Coronae Borealis b article is not very long and the merge would not overwhelm this article, and it would make for a more consistent discussion about the nature of the companion. 77.57.25.250 (talk) 08:46, 6 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've gone ahead and simply redirected the article here. Considering how outdated the article was, there wasn't even really anything useful to merge. StringTheory11 (t • c) 16:20, 6 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dubious[edit]

Abs. mag. is fainter than Sun, but luminosity is brighter (with comparable spectra). Also, abs. mag. is fainter than actual magnitude, for a star >10 parsec away. - ¡Ouch! (hurt me / more pain) 20:05, 23 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
