Some person or persons have repeatedly attempted to remove the material about the sexual abuse allegations from this article. Unfortunately, this is something that Callaghan may be as well known for as his skating or coaching accomplishments; the story was featured on the front page of the New York Times, where it would have been seen by many people who don't follow figure skating. It was also covered extensively by the Detroit Free Press and I also remember having seen some television coverage at the time the story broke.

Every statement in this article concerning the allegations is backed up by a citation to a reliable source. Moreover, the article is careful to present Callaghan's side of the story (as it was reported in the same reliable sources), and to include the information that the charges against him were never proven and that he was able to continue his coaching career afterwards. If there is additional information or sources that can be used to improve the accuracy or balance of the article, by all means we should do that. But simply deleting this whole section is not accurate or balanced. Dr.frog (talk) 15:51, 13 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
