Year of birth is wrongly given as 1841 by some sources including the Obituary in The Times. This is due to calculating the year of death minus age at death (1906-65) and the year of birth assumed on the 1881 Census: Census year minus age (1881-40). These estimates don't allow for a date of birth occuring later in the year and after the event. Dawd (talk) 21:20, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Records show Josey was Christened on 04 OCT 1840 Saint Giles, Reading, Berkshire, England (Familysearch.org) Dawd (talk) 21:20, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Richard Josey

[edit]

As a matter of interest and, as I have also mentioned on the site of Maurice Richard Josey's site I can state that a number of the Josey family lived at 44, Stowe road, Shepherds bush, London W.12. I can say this as my father was the son of Nerissa Josey who was the daughter of Richard Josey and my sister and I used to visit not only her but also her sister Winifred Josey and her other son (my uncle) Robert sheer regularly in the 1940s and 50s at this address. Thank for reading Denis Sheer. 92.5.3.76 (talk) 18:03, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
