I assume that it was his father who was given command of HMS Cambridge in 1691?

Yes, it reads - 'His father had been a commander of a number of merchant ships, and on 26 December 1690, was among those invited by the Admiralty to volunteer for naval service. He did so and on 6 January 1691 he was appointed to command HMS Cambridge.' Benea (talk) 13:37, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What happened?[edit]

From the article:

"The British had been following the Spanish the previous day, but on the evening of 10 February Lestock the rear before it had reached its proper position in line abreast." Lestock what the rear? I can't think what it would be - halted?. Stevebritgimp (talk) 19:52, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
