Regarding the founding of Muzak LLC=[edit]

Something about naming Simonton as a founder of Muzak doesn't seem quite right, since it doesn't square with the information about the company founding on the Muzak article. As far as I can tell, Muzak LLC was founded in 1936, in South Carolina, when Simonton was 19 years old and lived either in Seattle or maybe in SoCal. Regarding Richard Simonton's Double Life[edit]

To address those who would like to remove references to Richard Simonton's double life under the alias Doug Malloy, and the particulars to that life - I know that Richard's family & various theatre organ enthusiasts would like for that information not to be public, but his the dual nature of his identity and his invlovement in those activitys has been well documented since the late 80's. Fakir Musafar outs him in the book Modern Primitives, and almost every early participant in the body piercing community has both outed him and related numerous anecdotes and histories of his life in interviews since that time. His various professional and theatre organ accomplishments notwithstanding, his involvement in the development and promotion of body piercing in the late 70's can not be understated. He was the key figure, using both his wealth and connections to promote that activity. His own publications created much of the invented mythology and folklore of the body piercing community, and their impact is global and widespread (regardless of how erroneous or fantastic his historical data was and is).

That being said, I'd love to see the rest of this article fleshed out, especially the areas of his early life, the details of his involvement in Muzak corporation and his family life. Also his various spiritual & mystical beliefs could use some attention, there are reference materials available that address those areas of his life, but it would be nice to get some better data on that before it's included into the article. If anyone can assist in those areas, it would be much appreciated. Richard Simonton was one of the more colourful and interesting characters of the 20th century, and it would be great to have a comprehensive article about him here.

Also, I'd like to encourage any users looking to make serious contributions to Wikipedia to get user accounts. Being willing to sign your name to your edits is the least you can do if you are interested in contributing. Glowimperial 18:10, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
