In plant growth studies (Hunt 1982 is a standard text), there is another Richards Equation from Richards (1959) which is widely used (Heinen 1999).

Indeed I landed on this page while looking for the other one. What about a Distinguish tag with Generalised logistic function ?

Solution of the equation

[edit]

While the article says there is no analytic solution to the Richards equation I found this paper:

Barry, D. A., Parlange, J.-Y., Sander, G. C., & Sivaplan, M. (1993). A class of exact solutions for Richards’ equation. Journal of Hydrology, 142(1-4), 29–46. doi:10.1016/0022-1694(93)90003-r

Supposedly, we should mention it?
