I suggest that some numerical examples should be given, showing the gain in precision and/or the difference of calculations needed for a given precision, e.g. for a method of numerical integration. — MFH:Talk 19:28, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

sequence acceleration?

[edit]

I don't know if "sequence acceleration" is correct here - personally I have no problem with the idea of sequences indexed by reals, but IIRC, on WP this is restricted to sequences indexed by N, while here we're typically in the case of a function of h -> 0. — MFH:Talk 15:57, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sure there's a countable sequence there. Though the theoretical underpinnings may look at limits as a real-valued parameter changes, Richardson extrapolation is a computational method, and it looks at sequences. Typically one looks at the value of the limiting expression at a sequence of parameter values such as . Lunch (talk) 20:33, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Incomprehensible article

[edit]

... the usefulness of this article for practical computations can hardly be underestimated. Dhatfield (talk) 21:35, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest a sentence that disambiguates between Richardson Extrapolation and Richardson iteration https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modified_Richardson_iteration Tashiro (talk) 00:24, 16 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This article doesn't make sense

[edit]

Does article does need reviewing and editing by an expert in numerical methods. It is an important topic! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adriaancampo (talkcontribs) 20:07, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
