Article Naming

[edit]

Article naming: reverted attempt to rename to "Rigas Pils", the endonym, as per my understanding of Wikipedia naming conventions:

"Generally, article naming should prefer to what the majority of English speakers would most easily recognize, with a reasonable minimum of ambiguity, while at the same time making linking to those articles easy and second nature.

This is justified by the following principle:

Names of Wikipedia articles should be optimized for readers over editors; and for a general audience over specialists"
Many thanks for your information. Seems like there are some more of its ilk in the Riga article. --Philaweb T-C 20:44, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fire damage

[edit]

I don't really feel like proving otherwise today, but in Latvian media it was reported several times that none of the items held by museums were damaged beyond recovery, they were not damaged by fire, but soaked with water used by firemen. ~~Xil (talk) 20:57, 21 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
