location vs. historic districts
[edit]Hi, nice start of an article! I wonder if the former ballroom, now a furniture store, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. If it's old, it could be a contributing building within one of Bridgeport's historic districts, which are all listed at National Register of Historic Places listings in Bridgeport, Connecticut. If so, it would be appropriate to mention the relationship here and in the historic district article. Hmm, i see not all the historic district articles are created; i'd be willing to help with starting one well, if it is going to link to this ballroom article. Just trying to build good connections.... --doncram 17:55, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Doncram, I've just expanded this article out a bit, and the building no longer exists. However, if you click the link for the "Bridgeport: 1900-1960" source, it has a great picture of the inside... albeit in b&w. It must have been a nice venue! Also it's in Ash Creek, which AFAIK isn't a HD. Best, Markvs88 (talk) 19:27, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
- Ah, yes, i see. Nice photo indeed, too bad all burned. Thanks. --doncram 19:37, 15 December 2011 (UTC)

[edit]If it still existed would this Ritz Ballroom rate in List of hardwood floor ballrooms?
Google searching on "Ritz Ballroom" turns up one in El Paso, Texas and one in Jupiter, Florida....
