Agostinelli Article Subjected To Bell Pottinger Scrubbing[edit]

It is well known that Agostinelli is a client of the public relations firm Bell Pottinger, whose digital public relations team has a storied history with Wikipedia, including astroturfing as well as scrubbing any adverse information related to their clients: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/wikipedia-founder-attacks-bell-pottinger-for-ethical-blindness-6273836.html It would be advised that the PR accounts discussed herein, particularly the SPA account of David 3651, be considered and perhaps blocked within that context. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ssentif (talkcontribs) 13:48, 16 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

PR ACCOUNTS[edit]

Accounts such as DataChecker1, David 3651 and wsjnewsupdater have histories indicating their sole purpose is to scrub this entry of any potentially adverse sourcing. Recommended their contributions be watched carefully and locked out from editing this article if necessary, especially the first paragraph. Suggested Edits: Robert Agostinelli Not Billionaire Sources[edit]

These credible sources and information keep getting deleted from opening paragraph by a series of what appear to be PR accounts (see above). Could someone please acknowledge the legitimacy of this information and sourcing and include in the article, blocking any future reversion attempts?

Proposed addition to opening paragraph of article:

"Agostinelli has a rumored net worth of $1.0 billion as of March 2012, although this figure is in dispute, with other sources stating that despite the public relations campaign around his purported fiscal status, Agostinelli is merely a "wealthy financier" but not a billionaire. Sporting Intelligence clarifies that "The London arm of the Rhone Group (Rhone Group LLP) had an annual turnover in its most recent accounts of just £5.9m. While the firm “manages” total funds of £3bn globally, the emphasis is on “manages.” Rhone doesn’t “own” this money; it takes fees from moving its clients’ cash between investments."[1][2]"

Given the dispute between sources, I'd further suggest removal of the net worth status in the infobox.

Suggested Edits: Robert Agostinelli Affairs[edit]

A bestselling book cited further up in the article also provides further details on Agostinelli and an incident involving the New York Police Department and a restraining order enforced through arrest at his workplace. It would seem to me that such details are encyclopedic, relevant, and valid with the associated source link to the full text in question. Yet the information is repeatedly removed from this article by the same usual suspect PR accounts described above. Here is the information and linking. I'd suggest adding it to the "Personal" section of the article and blocking its removal by scrubbing attempts.

"The Last Tycoons describes Agostinelli as an international playboy who carried on extra-marital affairs with various women while married including a co-worker, a "woman in Chicago believed to be a stripper", and a neighbor on the block where he and his wife lived. A dispute over the latter led to the New York Police arriving at Lazard's office to arrest Agostinelli on violation of a restraining order. [3]"

Verbatim New York Times Source[edit]

I have found the highest calibre source, the New York Times' link to a best selling book, to quote verbatim when this article opens back up for editing. I trust this should suffice as accurate and reliable. Suggested text as taken verbatim from page 401 of the book from the New York Times document: "In the mid-1990s, a New York City police detective came to the thirty-second floor at One Rockefeller Center looking to arrest Robert Agostinelli for violating a temporary restraining order his wife had had issued against him. Apparently, this domestic dispute had its origins in the affair Agostinelli had been carrying on with a woman who lived on his block on East Seventy-second Street. He also had an affair with a woman in Chicago, who was said to be a stripper." Source: http://graphics8.nytimes.com/packages/pdf/opinion/Cohan_LastTycoons_Chapt14.pdf
