I suggest we rename this page. Adding "(Australian Politician)" is not a very helpful disambiguation, because there are at least 3 Australian politicians of this name: The current Greens senator Bob Brown, the ALP Federal member for Hunter 1980-84 and Charlton 1984-98, and the one refered to in the stub.

I propose renaming this one to Robert Brown (NSW State Politician).

The NSW Federal member's page (which does not yet exist) should probably be called Robert Brown (Australian Federal ALP politician).

Further edit: Rather than delete it, a better solution is to turn this into a disambiguation page. I'll do this in the next day or two if there are no objections. Rocksong 12:36, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Aha. I assume the NSW State Politician is Robert Brown of the Shooters Party who was appointed on 3-May-2006, as mentioned in Members of the New South Wales Legislative Council, 2003-2007. Rocksong 12:45, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That was 1978-80, so I'm guessing he's the same as the Federal member for Hunter 1980-84 and Charlton 1984-98 (especially since all 3 seats are in the Hunter Valley). So since he was in both state and federal politics, I propose instead this chap should be Robert Brown (Australian Labor politician), while the new Shooters Party person be Robert Brown (Australian Shooters Party politician). That's not a bad proposal actually. I can imagine the possibilities of MPs switching parties, but they should be rare enough. Two MPs of the same name and party is a bigger problem, but they can be dealt with as they are found I guess. -- Newhoggy | Talk 00:33, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

All done! I've added the two new pages, and added them both to the disambiguation page Robert Brown. I've also replaced this article with a simple link to Robert Brown. I hope this is a reasonable solution.
