NYT Obit[edit]

The New York Times archive has obit published 10/17/1965, including some family/survivors information. His name is listed as Robert G. Humphreys, no mention of the middle name Cunningham. Upon his appointment as Republican Party Publicity Director, NYT reported 07/31/1952, that Humphreys formerly worked for The Houston (Tex.) Press newspaper. Always Attack, Document X[edit]

In the book, Playing to Win: An Insider's Guide to Politics (1980, Simon and Schuster) author Jeff Greenfield credits a Humphreys 1953 memo to the RNC leadership, as saying, "It is axiomatic in politics that you must have an enemy." (p. 52++)~~ 73.146.6.14 (talk) 15:04, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
