Cleanup and improvement

[edit]

I changed the article and hope it does now answer to wiki standards. In anticipation of approval I have removed the cleanup notes. I also included a picture, so I removed that note too. If not satisfied, feel free to put it back again. I have been in contact with Oxford University about Robert Govett, and it was brought to my attention that the biographies of Govett on the internet all have a common error. They all mention that he was an Eaton Scholar, but there never existed a college named Eaton. In the words of the Oxford University archivist, Dick Smethurst: "In view of the Worcester man Govett was, it is likely that before Oxford he went to the prestegious Eton College, without the a."

Watch-Wiki Talk?

[edit]

I changed the external link leading to an article by Watchman Nee about partial rapture, to a link where there is an article on the subject that was actually written by Govett himself, which seems to me to be the more correct way of working. Spurgeon connection

[edit]

A comment about a sister Eva who married William Spurgeon has been removed. No such sister is mentioned in the Siep book. There is a Fanny Maria Govett Perrett [1] in an online list of 1848 baptisms who may be the person meant. Charles Matthews (talk) 06:29, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
